TRACK3D GmbH receives Pro FIT Projektfinanzierung from Investitionsbank Berlin
TRACK3D GmbH is pleased to announce the approval of a Pro FIT Projektfinanzierung from Investitionsbank Berlin.
Overall Project Goal
TRACK3D is developing an innovative closed-loop 3D printing process. The 3D In-Situ Monitoring enables active process control, significantly reduced scrap rates, and dimensionally accurate parts of consistently high quality. The process is applied in TRACK3D’s fused layer 3D printer RP-600. The goal of the Pro FIT project is to bring the 3D In-Situ Monitoring and the RP-600 to series production readiness. To this end, scientific foundations for monitoring will first be established through industrial research, which will then be transferred into a series-ready product – the RP-600 – through experimental development. Compared to competitors who largely rely on open-loop process control, TRACK3D can bring 3D printing to a new level of process reliability and quality with the closed-loop approach, enabled by the permanent evaluation of real-time 3D data. This opens up entirely new application fields for users and significantly increases customer value. To evaluate the large volumes of point cloud data generated by the monitoring in real time, TRACK3D relies on new mathematical models and machine learning.
The 3D In-Situ Monitoring enables comprehensive process monitoring and repair of printing errors. Quality assurance of parts to be printed is also ensured by the 3D In-Situ Monitoring. Configurable protocols allow for significantly simplified assessment of part quality and whether it falls within specified specifications.
An important component is the certification of the RP-600 for the key industries of automotive, aerospace, and medical technology. During the development of the technical prototype, the EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC is used to ensure safe operation of the machine.
